In this age of agile and Dev Ops based development, with average release frequency of a month for a Salesforce customer, what could be a bigger asset for Salesforce admins than ‘time’.  To help you with it we have identified some key time-saving activities/shortcuts that will help you in day to day tasks.

Saving time while sending emails
  • Enterprise customers generally have offline email-based communications/approvals while working on Salesforce objects that do not get recorded directly in Salesforce. Instead of having the users attach emails to a record/raise a case for getting it done, Admins can enable “Email to Salesforce” feature and tag their Salesforce IDs as BCC in emails. The system will detect record details from the email and auto attach the email to correct Salesforce record.
  • Another key aspect to reduce efforts on sending email is by creating Email templates that apply to different objects. Admins can create templates for different stages of an object, with defining the target group of users and content.
Saving time on Reporting
  • Every Salesforce admin will agree that a major chunk of the requests users have time and again is access to data extracts. Identify frequently asked report requests and create report templates that can be reused and directly shared with end-users.  Also, leverage custom report types to address non-standard repetitive reporting tasks.
Run Scheduled jobs faster
  • Salesforce provides a super easy option to run your batch jobs in the click of a button. All you have to do once you have written a scheduled batch job is to look out for the section called ‘apex sharing recalculation’ on your target object and tie your batch job to it.

We hope these steps help you save your time and effort required for repetitive configuration as well as customization tasks so that you can work on growing your Salesforce org and address new questions.
